Introduction
The Portal is the core configuration environment of Virtual Data Platform. Nearly every component of Virtual Data Platform can be configured and administrated in the Portal, ranging from Functions and Models over Source Systems to the Agents.
The Virtual Data Platform Portal is available as a web service on portal.virtualdataplatform.com.
In case there is only one Tenant available and your login details are already cached by your browser, you are immediately redirect and the Dashboard is shown directly. In case your login details are not cached, you are asked for your Microsoft credentials. In case several VDP Tenants are available and you want to switch to another one, just click on your user name on the upper right of the Portal and select 'Switch Tenant'. In the extended menu you do also have the possibility to change language, see your roles or logout.
Next to the information about the current user, there is a search bar that allows you to search for elements such as Virtual Datasets or Systems configured in the Virtual Data Platform.
Another important element in the top bar is 'My Sandbox', which provides information about the Sandbox. The current status is displayed using a green or red indicator to show whether an instance is running. Clicking this element provides additional details and functionality, including stopping, real-time usage statistics and memory consumption.
The "Stop" command resets the currently running Sandbox, which can be helpful if a larger platform request is stuck. When you initiate a new request, a fresh Sandbox is automatically started.
The footer contains additional information about the terms, imprint, and privacy policy. In addition, the “Front-End Integration” element provides useful information about connecting to front-end applications, such as the string required for the Universal Connector.
On the left side of the Portal, there is a menu bar containing various items. Each item corresponds to an area grouped by functionality where you can configure or administrate specific components of Virtual Data Platform:
Overview

Further details can be found in the relevant sections. Since the portal is designed for intuitive use, this documentation offers only a high-level overview.
